Role:
- Identified areas at IRC where BSU service learning students could aid refugees while gaining a valuable learning experience.
- Created and supervised 15 volunteer projects to support IRC efforts
- Supervised 60+ students and regular volunteers
- Dialogued with and collected feedback from IRC staff and BSU faculty regarding utilization of volunteers
- Created a volunteer information packet and support materials
- Conducted volunteer orientations twice a year and as needed
- Managed administrative aspects of volunteers by collecting, submitting, and filing paperwork for waivers, background checks, etc...
- Supervised the progress of volunteers in completing their required hours and projects
- Met individually or in small groups with students at least 3 times a semester to ensure a postitive volunteer experience and solicit feedback
- Dialogued with and collected feedback from IRC staff and BSU professors regarding successful utilization of volunteers
