Fins

The fin design is unique to high-power rockets. Instead of firmly securing the fins to the rocket airframe with fiberglass, the fins are locked into the centering rings and secured with the thrust plate. This allows the fins to be removed for easier transportation, easy replacement in case of a fracture, and also redesinging the fins for an optimal profile depending on payload weight and flight motor used.

In an effort to reduce fin vibration and flutter, inserts were designed that sandwich the fins and provide frictional damping.  These inserts utilize the same locking mechanism as the fins and are removable and replaceable.
